The Stay

There is nothing to do here, deliberately.

No activities desk, no itinerary, no group anything. What we do provide, we keep in good order.

Lamplight and steam inside the cedar sauna

01

The sauna

Wood-fired and cedar-lined, reserved in one-hour blocks so the room is always yours alone. An hour is long enough to stop thinking about the week you came from, and the stove is lit before you arrive.

Cedar cold plunge barrel steaming on the deck outside the dark timber sauna

02

The cold plunge

A cedar barrel on the deck just outside the sauna door, spring-fed and kept somewhere near fifty degrees all year. Fifteen seconds is plenty the first time, and nobody is watching if you skip it.

Breakfast basket with sourdough, jam, and freshly ground single-origin coffee

03

Morning Bread and Coffee

A basket at your door before eight: sourdough from the bakery in town, butter, and last summer's jam. Beside it, single-origin beans ground that morning, Ethiopian this season, and a pour-over kit.

A mowed footpath winding through misty spruce forest

04

Six miles of path

Trails mowed and marked through spruce, hemlock, and one stand of hardwood that turns the whole hillside in mid-October. Easy walking, no signage to follow, and benches wherever the view earned one.

Steel smokeless fire bowl burning beside the dark timber Hollow cabin at dusk, pond behind

05

Fire, every night

Hollow and Ridge sit at a steel smokeless bowl; Birch and Spruce have a stone ring instead. Every cabin gets a rack of split hardwood and dry kindling, kept stocked through your stay so you never think about it.
